Joining the Advisory Board of GIVMED

GIVMED is a non-profit organisation which helps people donate their leftover medicines to those who cannot afford to buy them. It was established in 2016 in Greece, in the midst of the country’s financial and social crisis. Since then it has redistributed almost 20,000 boxes of medicine, worth over 200,000 Euro and catered to over 4,500 individual pharmaceutical needs. Thanassis Vratimos, GIVMED’s co-founder was recently featured on BBC ‘World Hacks: Putting your leftover pills back to work’ to explain GIVMED’s mission, vision and achievements. The documentary received over 1 million views on social media.Lyda Modiano, Founder of Wide Strategy met Thanassis and Ilias as a mentor at the Reload Greece Challenge 17 programme and immediately thought that Wide Strategy would love to serve companies and people like them. Much to her pleasure, she was invited as an Advisor to GIVMED a few months after their first meeting. As an advisor Lyda offers ongoing coaching, leadership and marketing support to the team, helping the organisation to grow and reach its objectives. According to Lyda, “GIVMED was created out of a young team’s firm conviction that they can do good and help people in need; by offering their time and energy and mobilizing others to join their good cause. In a sense, GIVMED reflects how the younger generation can turn the world into a better place and as such, is a sign of optimism about the future".
