Israel at 70: Innovation at its best- 2018 competition in Athens

“I created Geabit to support and improve agriculture in Greece and across the world. Geabit is the first ever AI based monitoring system for agriculture”, says 19 year old Vaggelis Karathanos on the occasion of his nomination as the winner at the “Israel at 70: Innovation at its Best 2018” competition. The competition is organised by the Embassy of Israel in Greece with the support of the Industry Disruptors-Game Changers. Vaggelis will join the Greek business delegation to visit Israel from 2-6 September 2018 and will get the chance to meet with venture capitalists, investors and local and international industry experts. Wide Strategy participated as an evaluator to the competition, through its founder Lyda Modiano. “ This is the third year I am acting as an evaluator of Greek startups at the competition. It is an honor and a pleasure to do so. Every year, I see more mature startups pitching and this indicates how the Greek startup ecosystem has been progressing over time, with innovative and diversified business ideas. Greek startup founders are daring, work hard and have broad horizons -being well integrated into technology and the international business scene.  I strongly believe that Greek startups can soon become a driver of economic development and hope for the country”.
