How to Keep Followers Engaged in Your Brand

How to Keep Followers Engaged in Your Brand

After spending the time and energy driving SEO and expanding your brand's follower count, your next goal is to make sure that these followers stick. Here are some tips on how to provide content that keeps your audiences engaged and loyal to your brand.

Ask Questions

Customers like to see that the business they support cares about them. The best way to show that you care about your customers and followers, is to ask them how they feel. You can ask your audience for tips on how to improve your product or service, ask them what their favourite aspect of your product or service is, or you could even ask them about what they are doing to unwind on the weekend! People love to share their stories and opinions; your brand’s social media can provide the perfect platform for them to do so.

Build Trust

You have built a community of followers around your brand because these people care about what you have to say and offer. In order to have your followers stay loyal, you must make sure that you keep a certain level of consistency. You can do this by creating a culture and vibe surrounding your brand that is thoughtful, genuine, and welcoming.

Host Contests

Contests are the perfect way to not only engage your followers, but also promote your brand to new followers. Since you are the host of the contest and the one giving away the prize, you can set the conditions for the contest to your benefit. You can share your reach by asking those who enter the contest to share your photo with their followers, or tag their friends in the post. This is a great way to drive consumer engagement across social channels.

Educate

People do not want to be bored with advertisements all day. Instead of posting something that is easy to scroll by, post something that shows an interesting perspective or drives awareness about a social issue. You can teach others about the benefits of your business, of course, but don’t feel limited to this. Sharing current events and hot topics are a great way to keep viewers interested and excited about what you have to say.

Be Human

Don’t forget that you are not just selling a brand, you are selling the people the brand represents. Be authentically human with what you post. If you make a mistake, admit it. People will respect your honesty. By Elan Schwartz: Operations and Marketing Intern, Wide Strategy
