Wide Strategy in DEF IV

The fourth annual Delphi Economic Forum took place February 28th-March 3rd, 2019. The goal of the Forum is to identify global trends and policy decisions confronting the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Moreover, “it places Greece’s need for structural reforms and new leadership strategies under the microscope with the aim to explore a new model of governance”. The forum brought together 500 speakers, and over 2,500 attendees, representing 24 countries.

This year’s theme was "The Challenge of Inclusive Growth". Wide Strategy’s founder, Lyda Modiano, chaired the panel discussion on entrepreneurship, growth and innovation. The discussion started with a short presentation by Minister Mr. Costas Fotakis, the Alternate Minister for Research and Innovation since 2015. The DEF panel included a diverse mix of interesting speakers from the US, UK, Luxembourg and Greece: Alternate Minister of Education Costas Fotakis, Dr. Spyros Dimolitsas (Senior VP Georgetown University), Vasilis Dimopoulos (VP Oracle), Yannis Giokas (VP PCCW), Prof. Michael Jacobides (LBS), Alexandros Eleftheriadis (Founding member BigPi) and Alexandros Manos (CEO Intrasoft). A key takeaway from the day for Greek entrepreneurship: it is a long road ahead but there are significant signs of improvement...
