Our Mentee, PAZ, Wins Social Impact Award at RG YEP

The Reload Greece Young Entrepreneurship Program (RG YEP) Final Pitch Event took place on March 30th at the London Business School. RG YEP pairs mentors with young entrepreneurs to help develop their business ideas. After six months of workshops, masterclasses and mentoring sessions, the 14 finalists of RG YEP presented their business ideas in front of a room full of entrepreneurs, mentors, ambassadors, and investors; they pitched for three prizes: The All Star, Social Impact and Innovation Awards.

Wide Strategy’s mentee,  Leticia Galdon, won the Social Impact Award for her company, PAZ. PAZ is a social impact startup whose mission is to bring hope to those stranded in refugee camps in Europe, and Greece in particular, through technology. PAZ brings together professionals, companies and organisations to unfold the potential and untapped talent of refugees, with the vision of creating Europe’s most diverse and ethical tech workforce. The £1,000 cash prize will go towards accelerating the business.

Looking back on the mentorship experience Leticia wrote, “I don't come from a business background and never thought I would end up founding a startup. However, after visiting the camps and spending time with the refugees in Greece and getting to know the organizations providing humanitarian aid, we realised that for solutions to be effective in this context we needed to look at the problem with the eyes of a startup applying an agile methodology. When Lyda was assigned as my mentor, I had no doubt that PAZ's fate was about to change. She believed in PAZ from the second she read our deck, and for the past 7 weeks she has been an incredible source of education and support.”
