Raafiki, Mood Lab & Canary Make it to Second Round of Zinc

Zinc is LSE’s social business generator which aims to empower students to build businesses that tackle tough social issues. In the past year Lyda Modiano from Wide Strategy,  joined Zinc's community of fellows, mentoring a number of different 'zinc mission 2' teams. Mission 2’s goal is to “To Unlock Opportunities for People in Places Hard Hit by Globalisation and Automation”.

The teams are comprised of inspiring, young visionaries looking to hone their skills and positively influence the world. Here is a recap of the three teams that Wide strategy has worked with, who have made it to the second round of Zinc:

Raafiki: Unlocking opportunities for a diverse and ambitious group of young people by professionalising the mentorship relationship through training, accreditation and tracking.

Mood Lab: Mood Lab is a wellbeing company that helps people access, understand and use the tools and resources that can help them improve the way they feel.

Canary: Supporting hospitality workers who experience or witness sexual harassment via a platform that makes it easy to share stories to drive cultural change across the industry. The platform draws insights from the data and recommends evidence-based interventions so that companies can take action and mitigate risk.
