Wide Strategy’s motto: Stay Safe, Keep Sane!

For the two countries Wide Strategy is connected with, 2020 started in a positive vibe: in Greece, the year started with the economy's pulse beating fast and an upward trend in all economic indicators, with a booming real estate, a promising tourist sector and the gradual unveiling of global investor interest. In the UK, a sense of confidence and optimism had just come about, following the national election result and the long awaited clarity on Brexit.

All of us in Wide Strategy fought hard to make the best of this favorable context.

On a pro bono level: a)  In the last couple of months we have been part of a talented team of professionals - Fiona Anderson, Paul Beesley, Sally Tanner and Nicholas Wardle - assigned to develop the ‘strategy refresh project’ of the Engage for Success movement. We have been working as a virtual team who conducts research, team workshops and member facilitation and assesses and develops the strategy plan for the next decade of the movement. We will present our proposal on the 1st of April, to the EFS Board and aspire to kick off a second decade of success of this voluntary movement that advocates employee engagement as an important factor of business success. b) We have conducted a  workshop on communication skills to around 50 members of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) titled  “Effective communications for accountants” which was met with very positive reviews by participants (100% satisfied/very satisfied with the presentation and its relevance to the industry).

On a business level, a number of new long term client accounts were brought in, deriving mainly from the financial and culture industry. Exciting and challenging new projects, for which we put together new diligent teams of associates to support us. Now, in the midst of our “Spring”, we -as many other mid-sized companies around the globe- are faced with the catastrophic impact of coronavirus…There is a limit to what a business can do to mitigate this deadly threat. This is one of the many harsh realities that coronavirus has unveiled. So in Wide Strategy, our only defence is to have faith and set our priorities straight: Stay safe, Keep sane.
