Conference on Greek Diasporic Relations

Wide Strategy participated in a conference organized by South East European Studies at Oxford (SEESOX). The two day conference which took place in June was on the theme Homeland-Diaspora Relations in Flux: Greece and Greeks abroad at times of Crisis. It featured talks by elite faculty from Greece, UK and USA, amongst others.Particularly, a presentation on ‘studying the Greek diaspora in Oxford’ shed light on a recently initiated project by Renée Hirschon that employs a classical anthropological approach to examining the importance of language, religion, regional origin and family ties on issues on adjustment and identity. These engagements shed light on how Greece is being redefined following its crisis and how these developments are bound to influence economy, politics, philanthropy, business and entrepreneurship.
